| Day 1: Santiago | Upon your arrival in Valparaiso, you will meet you Tour Director and be transferred by deluxe motorcoach to Santiago where you will have the remainder of the afternoon in Santiago to enjoy optional sightseeing, shopping and dining. Be sure to consult your tour director for suggestions. Overnight in Santiago. | | Day 2: Santiago to Lima | Following an early breakfast in your hotel, you will be taken to the Santiago airport for a flight to Lima, Peru. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel where you will enjoy an included lunch. After lunch, a city tour of Lima will include the most representative parts of colonial Lima, from the architectural masterpiece of the San Francisco Monastery to a visit to the Larco Museum. Here you will witness remarkable Peruvian archaeological collections, as well as the finest display of gold and silver from ancient Peru. Once the tour is complete, the remainder of the evening is yours for sightseeing and dining. Overnight in Lima. Breakfast and lunch included. | | Day 3: Lima to Cuzco | After breakfast, you will take off on a flight to Cusco followed by a motorcoach journey to Urubamba, just one step closer to Machu Picchu. As your motorcoach departs from Cusco, you will visit the impressive Inca fortresses of Sacsayhuaman, and enjoy panoramic views of the city of Cusco. You will continue on to the 'Sacred Valley of the Incas' and have the opportunity to bargain with vendors at the market in Pisac. Continuing on, enroute you'll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, and in the afternoon you'll visit Ollantaytambo, a famed Inca archaeological site. Before turning in for the evening, you'll have some free time to explore the quaint streets of the nearby country town. Overnight in Urubamba. Breakfast and lunch included. | | Day 4: Cuzco | The day begins with an early morning breakfast before you transfer to the train station and board the Vistadome for your travels to Macchu Picchu. Upon arrival into Aguas Calientes, you will be taken to 'The Lost City of the Incas,' discovered by American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. From here, you will have a guided tour of the marvelous citadel, a truly awe-inspiring experience. An inclusive lunch will be served at the Sanctuary Lodge. Free time is then available for you to stroll around the archaeological site before traveling to the Ollanta train station for your return trip to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be transferred to your hotel to relax and reflect on the day's adventures. Overnight in Cusco. Breakfast and lunch included. | | Day 5: Cuzco to Lima | Your day begins with breakfast in your hotel, followed by a city tour starting at the impressive colonial cathedral which contains over 400 paintings of the colonial art influent from the Cusquena School as well as a number of ancient altars. Continue on to visit the Temple of the Sun, the main religious center of the Incas and dedicated to the Sun Cult. Upon conclusion of the city tour, you will travel to the airport where you will join your Tour Director and fellow travelers for a farewell luncheon. After lunch, you will have the remainder of the afternoon and evening to sightsee, show or dine out. Overnight in Lima. Breakfast and lunch included | | Day 6: Lima | Following your breakfast, your Tour Director will ensure you are transferred to the Lima International Airport for your return flight home. |
