Day 1: Kyoto
Arrive in Osaka and head to magical Kyoto, where you'll enjoy an evening at leisure. Overnight Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto.
Day 2: Kyoto
Today you'll sightsee to some of Kyoto's greatest attractions including stunning 410-year-old Nijo Castle, site of two lavish palaces and several beautiful gardens, and the unforgettable Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion). Savor lunch at a local restaurant followed by the Heian Shrine and Tenryu-ji Temple. Dine in a traditional Japanese restaurant with a Maiko show, sure to be a highlight. Day 3: Kyoto / Kanazawa
Travel from Kyoto to Kanazawa via express train with a stop at Kaga Onsen and visit Yunokuni no mori (Kaga Arts and Craft village featuring many local artists and an opportunity to create a traditional Japanese piece of your own). Day 4: Kanazawa
The culture and tradition of Japan will be a highlight today as you enter the Higashi Chaya geisha district, Samurai residence area, Kenroku-en Japanese Garden and Oumicho Market. Day 5: Kanazawa / Tokyo
After checking out of the hotel, explore Shirakawago village, visiting Wada family residents and Ogimachi observatory before boarding the Bullet Train from Toyama to Tokyo. Day 6: Tokyo - Yokohama
Today, you trade the bustle of Tokyo for Japan's more serene side at pristine Lake Ashi, Mt. Fuji and Togendai. Drive to Hakone National Park, where you will ride a Komagatake ropeway to visit observatory (weather permitting). Enjoy a breathtaking Lake Ashi Cruise before lunch at a local restaurant. Day 7: Tokyo - Yokohama
This is Tokyo, one of the most thrilling cities on earth. An introductory sightseeing tour takes you to the Meiji Shrine, Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Shopping street. Complete the highlights tour with a drive through the iconic Ginza District before being introduced to the art of sushi making where you will have hands on experience making your own sushi lunch. Day 8: Tokyo - Yokohama
